Card Meaning: Nine Of Cups
General
When this card appears in a spread, it usually indicates fulfillment of
whishes. The figure is obviously very happy with a situation while sitting in
front of chalices that more or less are presented as his possesion. As a
member of the Cups suit, the satisfaction is usually emotional or sexual but
this is also a very good card for money and generally speaking all kind of
material possesions. Not always this situation is permanent if without spiritual
support in the spread.
Reading
Positive:
abundance and satisfaction, succes, wishes fulfilled, victory over difficulties.
Negative: material losses, vanity,
blaming others, indulgence.
A goodly personage has feasted to his heart's content, and abundant
refreshment of wine is on the arched counter behind him, seeming to indicate
that the future is also assured. The picture offers the material side only, but
there are other aspects. Divinatory Meanings: Concord, contentment,
physical bien-être; also victory, success, advantage; satisfaction for
the Querent or person for whom the consultation is made. Reversed: Truth,
loyalty, liberty; but the readings vary and include mistakes, imperfections,
etc.
