Tarot meanings
Discover meanings of twenty two cards of the Major Arcana and seventy six
cards of the Minor Arcana divided into a four suits. The Tarot is a deck of cards
that originated some 500 years ago in northern Italy although there are theories
that is much older and maybe has its origin in Egypt. In Europe it was quickly
adopted as a tool for divination, and popularized by occult societies such as
the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn. On these pages you will find
mainly the Rider-Waite tarot. The Rider-Waite tarot is the most well-known tarot
deck in the Western world. It is a modern Tarot deck, drawn by Pamela
Colman-Smith and commissioned by Waite, both the members of Golden Dawn. It is
first that uses detailed images on cards of the Minor Arcana.
